Traffic methods

Traffic is the life blood of your blog and is the area that most people really struggle with. Especially in the begining of your onlin journey.
If your budget is tight and your new to blogging you may want look for free ways to attract visitors to your site. Here is a list of my favourite methods.
  • Twitter
  • Youtube
  • Blog hopping.
  • Articles
  • Facebook
  • Forums

Twitter

Twitter is a micro blogging platform that nearly everyone has heard of by now. The ide is that you communicate with others using only a few words. It is a great way to get targeted followers. The key is not spam the site, but add value by adding real comments and occasionally a link back to your blog.

Youtube

It is really easy to make a quick video and add it to Youtube. Youtube has a fantastic amount of traffic and by adding a link back from your video to your blog you can generate a fair bit of traffic quite quickly.

Blog hopping

This is my favourite method and very easy to do in just a few minutes a day. Basically you visit blogs in your nich and read the posts. Then leave a comment. Usally there is a place to leave a link. Other people will read your comments and click on your links back to your site. You can get a steady trickle of traffic this way very quickly.

Articles

There are many article sites on the net. It does not take long to put a five hundred word article together. You include your links at the bottom. Most sites will take a few days to approve your work, but its worth it when someone uses your article on their site. I have visited many blogs that I have found through article writing.

Facebook

I use Facebook in the same way as I use Twitter. By making comments and now and again promoting my own blog. The key here is add to your friends list by following other people in your niche. Then as your list grows add friends from other peoples profiles.

Forums

Places like the http://www.warriorforum.com are great places to get traffic. The beauty of this method is, its really targeted traffic. Be careful not to spam the site, always add value by making helpful comments or asking sensible questions. You promote your own blog by leaving a link in your signature.

All these methods work. They do take time, but the rewards do come. The important thing is to take action and set some time aside to follow through with these methods on a regular basis.

To your online future.

Your Online Success

Your Online Success

Stop exchanging time for money

This was another good bit of advice from the list building weekend. if you have a job then your normally paid by the hour.
There are only so many hours a week that you can actually work and that means that there is always a cap to your earnings. Freedom comes when you step out of that mindset.

Creating your own little bit of Internet real estate(blog) and selling your product or someone else's product(affiliate) is the way to smash through that cash barrier.

There is an order to this. First build a list by giving something of value away. Build a relationship with your list by emailing them good content. Then people will want to learn from you and then they will want to buy from you.

Don't try to re-invent the wheel. do what has worked for others in the past. Most importantly, take action and follow through. Do not and I repeat, do not give up when the going gets tough. Nothing can work right all the time. What separates those that succeed and those that fail is simply the will to win.
Get it right and working before you move onto the next project.
Simple advice but so effective.
